Chiselhurst is a well-established Toowoomba kindergarten that was thoughtfully founded by Miss Anne Clark in the year 1940, as a direct response to the challenging conditions that children and families were enduring during the tumultuous times of World War II.

Today, this cherished institution proudly gives voice to the experiences and stories of 6 generations and counting! With unwavering commitment, deep love, and a spirit of collaboration, we wholeheartedly embrace our important responsibility to help create a world where every child can grow, learn, and truly flourish.

What’s Happening At Chiselhurst

This week is ALL about creepy crawlies and tiny critters!!

Even if you aren’t particularly keen on things with more than four legs, this week we are learning all about BUGS🐛!! From dragonflies to butterflies🦋, and house flies to fruit flies, stink beetles🪳 to slugs and snails - they’re all weird and wonderful in their own way!

🐞🐜🦟🪲🪳🕷️🦋🐝🦗

The children will get the chance this week to explore the micro-world entomological with Torin from Bugs Ed. This creepy crawly connoisseur will guide the children through the wonder of these creatures and just how incredible they really are! Torin will be visiting the Acacia and Casuarina groups on Monday 16 June, and the Casuarina and Daisy groups on Friday 20 June. So buckle up to hear about all these little itty-bitty friends when your child comes home!

If that isn’t enough for you - the Daisy group will be getting an extra dose with Katie Cuthill to come and talk about native and honeybees🐝🐝🐝🐝

  • Children can be placed on the wait list from birth by submitting a completed wait list form with a $30 non-refundable booking fee.

Usually around July we begin sending out letters of offer to those families on the wait list for the next year’s kindergarten program. The position is secured once we have received your acceptance and associated enrolment/association fees.

Most positions are filled by the end of November, however late withdrawals can extend the period in which positions are offered.

Our wait lists are often quite long, and not every child on our wait list will be offered a position.

  • Our Open Day gives any prospective families a chance to visit our centre and join in a morning of Kindergarten activites.

Seeing each child come alive, their curiosity ignited, their minds full with wonder and their belief in themselves and others grown, that’s the magic! Nurturing experiences are like fairy dust - sprinkle it on them and they will discover their wings
